EXPLORE YOUR WORLD
Capital’s study abroad offerings have been designed to help students find a program that meets both their educational and cultural goals for study abroad. Depending on academic goals, students can choose from a wide range of options, including short- and long-term programs. Study abroad is available for every major! Please complete an interest inventory and schedule an appointment with Jennifer Adams in the Center for Global Education (jadams@capital.edu)
If you’re a music major, you may want to take advantage of exchange programs that Capital has developed with institutions offering similar programs in Hungary and Germany. If you’re a nursing major, our nursing faculty have created short-term opportunities for students in Mexico and the Dominican Republic and nursing students may look at a variety of summer study abroad options. Capital University has a new, exchange opportunity with the University of Essex that is open to most majors. Apply early for the Essex exchange as there are a limited number of spots each year. Music Tech majors are taking advantage of fall study at Queens University, taking classes connected to their SONIC Arts Research Center and/or participating in short-term faculty led programs that have taken students to Nicaragua, Denmark, Germany and the United Kingdom.
As an education major, our Intercultural Student Teaching program gives students the opportunity to complete a portion of their required student-teaching in a choice of 17 countries outside of the United States or the Navajo Nation. Students may want to check out the wide range of opportunities made possible by organizations that coordinate study abroad programs around the world.
Students going on semester based programs have all courses pre-approved before going abroad to understand how courses will meet graduation requirements and complete a budget and meet with the Financial Aid Director to understand how their financial aid will help to pay for their study abroad experience.
