Ever since it’s opening in 1975, the Kodály Institute of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music (state university) has been a distinguished international center for advanced studies in Kodály-based music education and music teacher training. The Kodály Institute became a faculty of the Liszt Academy in 2005, and currently operates as the head office of all music pedagogy programmes of the Academy.
The Kodály Institute in Kecskemét provides graduate and postgraduate training programmes for international students in the field of Hungarian music pedagogy and methodology based on the music pedagogical concept developed by the renown Hungarian composer, educator and researcher, Zoltán Kodály. Capital University has been sending undergraduate students to study at the Kodály Institute since 1990.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Capital University recommends a GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or better and prefers junior level standing and a satisfactory aural skills assessment. The aural skills assessment will be arranged by the Music Conservatory after all other application materials are reviewed and accepted. Capital University needs to receive all application materials and make all admission decisions.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Students remain registered at Capital University during their semester overseas. Course information will not likely be available until the beginning of the term. All course work will be posted on the Capital University transcript as letter grades. Students will register for Conservatory courses that have a special delegation for courses taken at the Institute.
